Did you know that majority of persons sneeze less than 4 times a day, on average? If you’ve been sneezing frequently than the average number, your house might be occupied by indoor allergens such as indoor dust, mold and pet allergies. You need to reduce indoor allergens to prevent asthma and allergies.
Kick these culprits out of your home with these tips:
- Remove shoes before entering the house
You’ve been out the whole day and you just can’t image how many outdoor allergens you’ve encountered. Don’t bring these home with you. Make sure you remove your shoes before the dust are hiding under the sole of your shoes.
- Vacuum regularly
Regular cleaning method like sweeping won’t get rid of indoor allergens. Vacuum cleaners ensure that these allergens will be removed from your home. But, you to choose carefully which vacuum cleaner to use. Some vacuum cleaners might be sucking the dirt but the dirt might be put back in the air.
Tip: We recommend Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner because has a unique water filtration system that traps dust permanently so it can’t return to your home. It is the only vacuum cleaner certified as an air purifier by the American Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) making it a proven air cleaner and asthma & allergy friendly appliance.
- Changed bedding weekly
Dust mites that trigger allergies and asthma are often found on bed sheets. You can keep them out from your bed by washing your blankets, sheets and pillowcases regularly. You can also put dust-mite proof covers on your pillows, comforters and mattresses.
- Avoid pets dander
Pet allergens are found in cats’ and dogs’ dander, skin flakes, saliva and urine. The proteins found in pet allergens can cause an allergic reaction or intensify asthma symptoms. It’s advisable to bathe pets once a week to reduce the amount of dander they shed and don’t forget to wash your hands with sopa and water after you stroke your cat or dog. You should also keep pets out of bedroom and vacuum carpets.
- Clean your bathroom
Damp areas are magnet for mold. To keep the bathroom mold free, scrub the tile regularly and keep shower curtain clean.
